About
Alena Pechonkina, MD, MBA, NBC-HWC
Founder of Belcal
Alena is a health and wellness advisor, physician by training, and passionate advocate for practical, sustainable wellness that fits real life. Based in California, she combines her medical background with a deep understanding of lifestyle medicine, helping people move toward greater energy, clarity, and well-being—without extremes.
Over the years, Alena has supported a wide range of clients—from women navigating menopause and body changes, to students facing burnout, to individuals on GLP-1 medications seeking long-term behavior change. She meets each person exactly where they are, using science-backed tools and a compassionate, human-first approach. She spent the first part of her career as a practicing OB/GYN, and later shifted to developing treatments for patients with cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s, and various autoimmune conditions. Through it all, one thing became clear: lasting wellness doesn’t come from trends or apps—it comes from small, sustainable shifts in how we eat, move, rest, and care for ourselves, especially when life gets hectic.
As a wellness advisor, she helps clients create routines that support energy, focus, sleep, nutrition, and stress management. She’ve worked with menopausal women navigating body changes, students facing burnout, people with autoimmune conditions, and clients using GLP-1 medications looking for long-term behavior change. Wherever you're starting, she’ll meet you there—with evidence-based tools and a human-first mindset.
Belcal stands for Beautiful Calm—a reminder that wellness doesn’t have to be extreme to be effective. It can be grounded, personal, joyful, and even aesthetically pleasing. She created Belcal to offer an integrative pathway to wellness culture. No trends, no extremes, no guilt—just grounded support and personalized strategies that empower you to thrive.
Whether you're in a season of transition or simply ready to feel more like yourself again, Alena is here to help you build a version of wellness that’s effective, joyful, and deeply your own.
